Building on the tradition of "super" Leadership, the YMCA believes in growing our own future leaders as well as enhancing our teen populations skill base while at camp. LIT's (Leaders-In Training) are for teens (14 and up) who are ready for testing their leadership skills and expanding their knowledge while working with younger campers. This program is not intended for past campers who want privileges. Our tradition of growing leaders continues. The YMCA utilizes as a central focus the book "Learning Leadership" by Michael Brandwein (a renowned camping and teen expert). LITs may count towards your high school community service hours for graduation. LITs may also attend our Weekend Camps at an extra fee and participate in exciting adventures in and around the "Forgotten Coast." All LIT's must be 14 years of age at camp time, demonstrate a greater interest in working with younger campers, demonstrate the YMCA's core values, have a service mentality, and strong desire to learn and grow leadership skills. 1st Year LITs A 1st Year LIT is a person who has not attended camp before as an LIT.
